    All classes and programs are offered FREE of charge.

    PREPARED CHILDBIRTH

    These are monthly classes given by a local pediatrician and certified childbirth instructors. There are five sessions including childbirth techniques, labor coping skills, post-care, breastfeeding, and bible study. A layette basket of blankets, clothing, bottles etc... are earned by attending all classes. Call  806-354-2288 or email vflowers@carenetamarillo.org for more information.

    DR DAD

    Monthly classes will be taught by Faye Usala. Each Father upon completion of the program will gain the ability to respond to the immediate needs of his child, the ability to quickly and confidently respond to a medical emergency, the ability to know when to seek professional medical assistance for his child, the knowledge that he can have a positive impact of the daily life of his child, an appreciation of the father-child bond and enhanced parenting skills.     BABY SAFETY CLASS

    Pregnant clients may participate in these classes held every other month. The first part of this class is taught by a local pediatrician and includes basic baby care; feeding, taking a babies temperature, illness, when to call the doctor and what to do if the baby chokes. The second part of the class is taught by a child development specialist and covers car seat installation and use. At the end of the class participants will take home a new car seat.     YOUNG MOM'S GROUP

    Meets at 6709 Woodward, Amarillo
    Class is designed to teach young moms about their identity in Christ and help them to be successful through the challenges of being a young, single parent. Discover who you really are and where your true identity lies. Network with other young moms and join us for food and encouragement. Free childcare is provided.     DAUGHTERS OF THE KING

    Bible study for women at our North East Branch 706 N Polk, which helps understand that they are not the daughter of just any king, but the KING of kings, the creator of this universe, the Great 'I Am', the God Most high, the All-Sufficient One, the Alpha and Omega. As a 'daughter of the King', we must learn to claim our position. But first we must come to a clear understanding of who we are in Christ and what we possess as His child.

    PREMARITAL WORKSHOP

    Prepares couples for marriage, offering tools to promote communication. Recipients receive a certificate which is good for a year after completing the workshop and enables them to buy a marriage license at a $60.00 discount. Class includes 4 (2-hour) sessions.     MENTORING GROUPS

    PEARLS mentoring group for teen girls ages 13 to 19 which encourages purity in all areas of life. Pearls focuses on relationships with God, parents, friends and boys. It is purity based and creates an environment for girls to share their struggles with a caring adult. Group meets at the center on Sunday afternoons from 2:00 until 3:30. There are 8 sessions and a banquet celebration at the end. Classes are held in Spring and Fall and offered in Amarillo and in Canyon.

     

    BRAVEHEARTS mentoring group for teen boys ages 13 to 19  encourages teens to live the adventure and be all that God created them to be...boldly. They attend a weekend retreat at Ceta Canyon with their Dad or if their Dad is unable to attend they will attend with a mentor. Retreat weekends are held in the Spring and Fall.

     

    CHOSEN mentoring group for girls ages 8 to 13 focused on anchoring their identity in Christ. Girls participate in character building lessons and activities with lessons geared toward a young heart. Mothers are welcome to come and participate. Classes are offered Spring, Summer and Fall and girls meet once a week from 4:00 until 5:15.

     

    SQUIRES mentoring group for boys ages 8 to 13 focused on anchoring their identity in Christ. Boys participate in character building lessons and activities with lessons geared toward a young heart. Dads are welcome to come and participate. Classes are offered Spring, Summer and Fall and boys meet once a week from 5:30 to 6:30p.m.

     

    TRU U is a six week class that gives students foundational knowledge of their faith and equips them to defend their faith in any environment. Great preparation for challenges faced in college. This class is for High School Juniors and Seniors a minimum of 16 years of age is required. Classes are taught by Dr. Alan Keister and meet in Spring and Fall

     

    THURSDAYS THUNDER a follow-up to Bravehearts retreats. The group is lead by Jerry Little. Groups meet the second Thursday of the month from 7 to 8:30p.m. at 6709 Woodward, Amarillo Different speakers share life a lesson geared toward teen boys and enables their mentors to continue to build relationships. Free Pizza provided.

     

    BRAVEHEART JOURNEY GROUP meets for bible study weekly on Thursday mornings at 6:30 a.m. at 6709 Woodward Amarillo TX For Men including adult male leaders of Bravehearts and fathers who have attended a Bravehearts retreat.
